ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: |
|
David graduated with a Master of Fine Arts (with Honours) from the School of Visual Arts in New York. He started his life as a designer with Milton Glaser then worked for Saatchi & Saatchi on Northwest Airlines where his first ad won Ad Week’s Best Of Press. He was poached by Leo Burnett where he worked as a Writer and Art Director for clients including Kellogg’s, P&G, United Airlines, Heinz and McDonalds. Despite winning a series of awards whilst creating some famous campaigns, he left advertising to become a gag writer and presenter for radio and television. For television, David co-wrote “Danny Baker’s After All” for BBC Television and “Saturday Live” for ITV. “The Dave & Lee (Hurst) Show” was dubbed “a breath of fresh anarchy on the airwaves” by the Evening Standard and David’s radio credits include being a regular contributor and guest on Danny Baker’s programme on Radio 1. In the end, David preferred writing comedy to performing it and went full time as a screen writer in 1995. |
