LIZ DA COSTA – SET AND COSTUME DESIGNER

 

Trained at Central School of Art and Design graduating with a B.A. First Class Hons. Awarded an Arts Council Designers Bursary and worked with the Royal Exchange Theatre Company in Manchester.

 

She taught Theatre Design at Hounslow Borough College and was invited to Central and RADA as Guest Designer. Liz was a member of the award winning British team at the Prague Quadriennale and took part in the Victoria and Albert's exhibition "Spotlight " (Four Centuries of Dance Design).

Her designs for Dance include: London Contemporary Dance, Extemporary Dance Theatre, Ballet Rambert, Emma, Junction, Mantis and Wayne Sleep's “DASH”.

 

Set and Costumes for “ARMIDE” at the Buxton Festival of Opera; “TOSCA” and “MADAME BUTTERFLY” (costumes) for the Los Angeles Music Centre directed by Ian Judge and starring Maria Ewing ; “WILLIAM TELL” (costumes) for the Royal Opera House and “IDOMENEO” (costumes) for the Welsh National Opera.
